Visiting Artist Posters | 2024
This series of Riso-printed posters was created to promote the lectures of three professional graphic designers visiting Appalachian State University. The goal was to design posters that not only communicated the individual designer’s unique style but also reflected the themes and concepts of the lectures they were presenting. Each poster was tailored to visually capture the essence of the artist’s design philosophy, from typography and layout to color palette and imagery, ensuring a direct connection to the lecture content.
The posters were strategically displayed around the campus as promotional material to build excitement and draw attention to the upcoming talks, which were open to students and faculty. This project allowed me to explore how design can serve as both an artistic expression and an effective communication tool, while also experimenting with the use of Riso printing, a technique that added texture and depth to each piece, enhancing the overall aesthetic.
