Greetings! I'm Kari
As a Designer I often find myself channeling different levels of the human experience through my work. I value one-on-one connections with the community members for whom I get the pleasure of designing. Knowledge is power and social research is as valuable as academic research. Throughout my work, I've found great insight through conducting interviews to learn other’s stories and produce work that honors and uplifts these individuals' business goals and expectations.
When developing a project's technical characteristics I often look to other fine art mediums. I am drawn to linocuts from printmaking, tattoo ideation processes, and illustrations. The hands-on methods of creating is a part of my design process. This craft-based interest has encouraged me as a designer to create work that can be used in multiple ways. As a designer, I also look at the big picture while focusing on the small details that bring a design to life. This interest has also taught her the importance of a human touch in design. She believes that a humanistic touch is important to design because it helps the viewer build a relationship with her work.
